 This is my internship assessment blog, where I got an opportunity to put what I’ve learnt in these 2 months of my rotation in General Medicine department all together in one place.  I’ve been posted in General Medicine rotation from 11 December 2022 to 11 February 2023 which also includes working in ICU, Nephrology and Psychiatry. OP DAYS and NIGHT DUTIES: Took the histories and wrote them in OP cards for hundreds of patients as our OP day was on Monday with full influx of patients. Did CNS, CVS, Respiratory, and Abdomen examination.  Saw emergency cases such as myocardial infarction, Diabetic keto acidosis etc Learnt how 2D echo works and how to do it.  Leant how to identify and MI in ECG. UNIT DUTIES: Did research for a patient who was diagnosed with  acinetobacter infection in order to check sensitivity and choose the drug of choice for her. 40yr old male  Pt came with C/O blood in cough since 3 days Pedal edema grade 3  Breathlessness since 2days  HOPI: Patient was apparently assymptomatic 3 days ago and then he noticed blood while coughing, non foul smelling, pink in colour, not associated with clots 8-10 episodes per day.  He also complained of shortness of breath from 3 days, insidious in onset gradually progressive in nature. Grade3-4 He also complained of pitting type of pedal edema grade 3 No H/o chest pain, tightness. PAST: Not a k/c/o DM/HTN/TB/Asthma/Epilepsy  Operated for thyroid carcinoma 4yrs ago.  4 years ago in 2018, He noticed a swelling in the neck region, not associated with pain.
